31 Days of Latinas losing weight: Tip #6

It's Day #6 of our challenge! That means you've made it for almost a whole week! Are you sticking to it? Have you been drinking your water, walking a little more each day, adding more fruits and veggies to your plate, cooking healthier and, of course, now learning how to eat slower? I hope so! Now it's time for our next tip, one that will actually make EVERYONE pretty happy.

Actually, I may have fibbed a little bit. Doing this tip might not make you too happy but, when you're done, you're definitely going to be VERY proud. Here's the plan: since it's a lazy Sunday, today is the perfect day to clean out your closet. You know it's one of those things on your perpetual To Do List (I know it's definitely on mine!) and you're going to actually DO IT NOW.

First of all, cleaning out your closet today (that means getting rid of any clothes that no longer fit, that you don't love, that aren't that flattering, that are kind of old and gross and that are on your "maybe" or "I barely ever wear this" list) will give you some much-needed extra cardio. I expect this will take you at least a few hours and you CANNOT brush it aside and rush the process. Keep going until you have at least a few bags full of things you can donate to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.

Secondly, all of that room in your closet is going to be used for when you are skinnier and are looking to buy new clothes. I mean, who doesn't love shopping when you feel good about all the weight you're going to lose this month and this year?!

Last, but not least, and this is the top trick: take ONE of those "this is way too small for me" dresses or tops or your old favorite jeans that you can no longer zip up, put them on a hanger and display them somewhere in your bedroom. The reason you're doing this is because you'll feel your motivation come alive again whenever you look up and think about wearing this favorite outfit again.

Stay tuned for Tip #7 tomorrow for more tips on how to fit into your old skinny jeans!
