SEE an ultrasound of baby with a heart-shaped head

A gender-revealing ultrasound turned into the most extraordinary experience for two expectant parents from the U.K. Beverley Winter and Ben Platt, both 20, were stunned when a 3D ultrasound scan revealed that the baby boy growing in Beverley's stomach had a heart-shaped head. Though they initially worried that the baby might be born with developmental anormalities, they were reassured by their doctors. Sure enough, when little Logan was born in September, he no longer had a heart-shaped head. Now, his parents believe Logan sent them a message of love from inside the womb.

heart shaped head

Beverley, who had suffered a miscarriage the year before she became pregnant with Logan, says she was terrified of losing another baby. She believes that the image of Logan's heart-shaped head was symbolic of the love they felt for their then unborn son.

At the time of the ultrasound, Beverley was 16 weeks pregnant with Logan, and doctors believed that the heart-shaped head was due to the fact that his skull hadn't fully developed. Still, they reassured the nervous mom that the child appeared to be healthy and that he would likely continue developing, his head shape changing in the procss, as the pregnancy continued.

Now, some who have analyzed the scan speculate that there might have been fluid covering part of Logan's head or that the scan might have been taken at an unorthodox angle. Whatever the reason, the image is now treasured by Logan's doting parents, who have placed it in a photo album.

When Logan gets a bit older, his parents will share the image with him and tell him all about how he became a media sensation for being so unique even while inside the womb. It couldn't be a sweeter story to tell.
