Every morning this month we've been posting "You Know You're Latina When…" quotes on Facebook inspired by Latinas like you and I. It doesn't matter if you were born in the U.S. and only speak English or if you were born in Latin America, but have been living in the U.S. for decades, we can all relate!
I have listed the quotes based on the responses they've gotten from the fans of our "I Love Being Latina" Facebook page. Take a look!

- Your gringo co-workers ask you to stop yelling, but you insist that you are just talking!
- You invited four Latino friends for dinner, but 10 showed up because they brought their visiting relatives, their abuela and one of their kid's friend from school!
- Your abuela insists on giving your gringo friends politically incorrect names like negra, china, gorda, pelado…
- Your abuela swears your son got sick because la bruja de la familia "le hizo el mal de ojo"
- At times, I feel alone although I'm surrounded by people. I need mi gente and familia.
- 2 tongues + 2 coolturas = Latinas do it better!!
- Your mamá tells you you've failed as a wife because you don't iron your hubby's clothes and make your bed everyday!!

- Having a choice of two menus for your gringo guests: blood sausages or hot dogs or una mezcla de American and Latin cuisine
- Every room in the house has at least one cruz, a picture of la Virgen or un Santo yet your family hardly goes to church anymore!
- Your young and attractive gringa friend feels uncomfortable with your abuelo's stares and piropos, but you insist that "it's my cultura, every papi does it!!!
- It's midnight on a weeknight and your Latino friends are still at your house although your daughter's 6th birthday party invite said 5-7pm!!
- Having amigas or familia who say "that bear is so fussy" (instead of fuzzy) or "let's go to the b**tch" (instead of beach)
- You have to bring gifts to every tía and prima in Mexico or Colombia and the list includes items such as Vicks and a T-shirt that has English on it!
- Your parents insist that there's something wrong with your gringo boyfriend because "no baila", "es muy seco" and "ni nos saluda," but you insist it's just American culture!
- The names you're considering for your bebé include: José, Maria, Ángel, Sebastian, Guadalupe, Ximena, Sofía, Santiago, Diego, Jesús, Camila, Valentina and Mateo
