Miss Butt Brazil 2014 contestants finally revealed

It looks like Brazil is gearing up for their next "Miss BumBum" pageant, a nationwide competition in search for the Brasileña with … obviously the best butt. Can you believe a pageant like this even exists? This year's contestants have finally been revealed in a new shoot, including one big booty representative from each of Brazil's states. Sorry, but am I the only one disgusted by this idea? Why are we supporting women walking down a stage in nothing but a tangita and getting judged solely based on their booty?

There's no question about it, Brazilians really love themselves some big butts. So it's no surprise they have a nationwide competition to find the best one in the country. Hundreds of women dream to compete in the Miss BumBum pageant but only 27 competitors are chosen to strip down to skimpy thong bikinis showcasing their butts for the crown. What's wrong with this picture?

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of seeing my fellow Latinas misrepresented and hypersexualized in media, on television and in films. We complain that we no longer want to be stereotyped as these seductive, sex-crazed women, but its things like the "Miss BumBum pageant" that continue to set us back.

For all we know, half of the competitors in this compeition could be smart, ambitious women with college degrees and big dreams. But you'd never see that because the only thing they're displaying are their physical "assets" (you know what I mean), not their brains or their skills. I thought we were more progressive than this though. I thought we were over being seen like sexual air-headed things and ready to finally be treated like human beings. Well I guess I thought wrong.

Here are a few of this year's contestants with the biggest butts. I really do hope they have other things going for them besides their bums.
