I'm so excited to tell you about a Tennessee toddler who saved the life of an elderly man trapped inside of a hot car. Last Saturday, 68-year-old Bob King was sitting in a car waiting for his wife to come back from Vestal Baptist Church in Knoxville in 90 degree weather when something went wrong with the automatic locks on the doors and he got locked in. He didn't have a key, so he couldn't even lower a window or turn on the air conditioning. The temperature inside the car quickly reached over 120 degrees. King tried desperately to get out of the car, but he couldn't. Then, thank goodness, King caught sight of his 3-year-old savior, Keith Williams, walking by.
You are not going to believe how well this little boy responded. It's not an exaggeration to call him a hero and to say that he saved King's life.

King pounded on the car window to get Keith's attention. King yelled at Keith to "Get help, get help!" Keith looked a little confused but as luck would have it, his mom, Jessie WIlliams, had talked to him about hot car safety recently and the little boy knew something was wrong.
Keith took off running and found Pastor Jack Greene. Greene says, "I was talking to someone and little Keith came behind me and kept saying, 'Locked, locked, locked.' " Greene did not get that it was an emergency and if Keith weren't persistent, Williams would have stayed trapped in that sweltering car, but that little boy kept pulling and tugging on Greene's hand until Greene had no other option but to follow.
Keith pulled Greene to the car and by the time that Greene was able to get Williams out of the car, Williams was a mess, he collapsed out of the car and almost hit his head on the ground. Thankfully, King is okay now. Way to go, Keith Williams.
This is a big deal, you guys, the kid is 3 years old. I have a 3-year-old daughter and I know the limits she has with language. Sometimes it's not easy for a 3-year-old to make themselves understood. Keith Williams at such a young age, knew that he needed to help someone and even though he had a hard time being understood his determination saved someone's life.
