Most parents would do anything, including risking their own lives, if it meant protecting their children. That fierce love is exactly what spurred young Massachussets mom Christina Simoesto jump off a third-story apartment floor in order to save her 18-month-old son from an apartment fire.
Now, the 23-year-old is trying to recover from serious injuries and may never walk again. Still, she maintains it was all "worth it" –and I think any good mom would agree.

Simoes was reportedly watching TV in bed with her son Cameron when she saw flames outside her window. She tried to go downstairs and reach the door, but the apartment filled with smoke before she could make it outside. Left with no other choice to escape the rapidly growing fire, the mom made a risky move.
She grabbed her baby and gave him a kiss before jumping out the third-floor window. Doesn't that just send chills down your spine? Simoes had no way of knowing if they'd even survive, but she took a chance and did what she had to do.
Her choice ended up saving their lives. Simoes suffered from a broken back and had to undergo a six-hour surgery to get a rod inserted in her back. Doctors still aren't sure if she'll ever be able walk again, but the mom says she wouldn't change a thing. Why? Her son remained in her arms during the fall and miraculously suffered no injuries.
Wow. What an amazing mother this woman is. She made a huge sacrifice and not only saved her child's life, but also managed to get him out completely unscathed. And while she got injured in the process, it's clear she doesn't regret her decision for one single second. She is truly incredible and a hero in every sense of the word. And I'm not the only one who thinks so–a GoFundMe page was also set up to benefit the mom and her son and has already raised over $14,000!
