A Georgia woman who once weighed 600 pounds has managed to lose more than half her body weight without the help of surgery. Val McLeod had struggled with weight since childhood. She used to binge on cookies, chips, and ice cream and had no clue how to control her portions. The poor girl was so fat she couldn't even buy clothes. She had to make her own out of upholstery fabric. You HAVE to see how this chica looks now!

"I was just this mammoth person," She told WSB-TV. Val's turning point happened around 20 years ago when she almost died during an attempted gallbladder and gastric bypass surgery. Things started to drastically change for her after that. "I was committed at that moment to say, "I will never, ever do anything else to continue to destroy my life," she said.
When she realized that surgery was no longer an alternative she hired a nutritionist and personal trainer. Not only has she learned how to control her portions, but enjoys a healthy low-fat diet filled with fruits and veggies. She also walks and lifts weight regularly. The woman has managed to lose 370 pounds and was even featured in People magazine's upcoming weight loss issue. She plans on losing an additional 50 pounds so she can fit into this size 14 suit she bought 15 years ago.
Val hopes that her story will help inspire other women to lose weight the natural way, without the help of surgery. "Release the resistance, let go of limitations because it's a lie. You absolutely can do it. I start my day with a declaration about my healthy, my fitness, about my future and how synergized those two concepts are. That I won't have a future without being more fit," she said.
This woman's incredible journey proves that with hard work, determination, and some serious willpower anything is possible. Now I have absolutely NO excuse to not get healthy this year!
