Be careful with this popular but dangerous diet!

There's a new diet in town, and before you decide to give it a try, make sure to read carefully because is not as effective as it may seem. The pineapple and tuna diet is becoming more popular by the day because of its quick weight loss results.

According to nutrition experts, the belief of the diet is to eat two kilograms of pineapple throughout the day for two days, and to add two to four ounces of tuna at some point in those two days. Just eat pineapple and tuna for two days and you lose weight. Sounds like a dream come true, right?

Not so fast! This diet is one of those "to good to be true" diets, so be careful. This one is another one of those yo-yo diets, which will make you lose weight only temporary. This means that once you go back to eating normally, you will gain all the weight back. You could even end up gaining more weight.

You don't want that right?

Pineapple and tuna are both great foods to include in your healthy diet, but eating just these two foods, even if it's just for a few days, not so good. This diet makes you lose weight quickly because the pineapple is a natural diuretic and a low-calorie fruit. This makes the body not only lose weight by burning fat, but also by eliminating liquids. On the other hand we have the tuna, which will provide you the protein you need so you don't die of hunger for just eating pineapple.

There are many risks with this diet, which is why its many supporters of this diet suggest that you modify it by adding other foods to make it into a balanced meal plan. Adding more foods, that like pineapple, have properties to burn fat quickly.

Does this make it better?

Not so much. Like I mentioned before, you will lose the weight fast, but before you can brag about how you finally managed to fit in those skinny jeans, you will have gained all the weight back on. So don't waste too much time and energy with it. Instead make sure to include these two fabulous foods in your diet and take advantage of the great benefits they have.

Pineapple for example, is an excellent source of vitamin C, bromelain and magnesium. The bromelain is great for your diet because it decomposes the protein helping your body digest all the proteins in a more effective way. This helps you get all the nutrients more easily and because it improves your digestion, it automatically means you will lose fat in the waist!

As for the tuna, it is one of the best foods to get a great amount of omega-3s. The American Heart Association recommends eating it twice a week.  

Whether you decide to add pineapple and tuna to your diet, it is important that you remember you don't want to lose weight for a few days. You want healthy eating habits and an exercise plan so you can lose weight that will stay off and will keep you fit for life.
