Yummy grilled smoked chicken with homemade BBQ sauce (EXCLUSIVE RECIPE)

I love cooking from scratch and as most of us will be this weekend, I'm currently in the middle of a __grilling frenzy!__So I have been experimenting with various homemade BBQ sauces. Today's recipe is grilled chicken with a classic ketchup and soy BBQ sauce. Perfect for this Memorial weekend, serve with grilled corn on the cob, potato salad and all the goodies that beginning of summer helps bring to your table. I hope you like it!

Grilled smoked chicken with homemade BBQ sauce

Yield 4 servings

__Ingredients:
__4 chicken thighs
1/2 cup of ketchup
1 Tbsp. of soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp. of maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp. of honey
1/4 Tbsp. of ground cinnamon
Dash of red pepper
Dash of freshly ground black pepper
Salt and black pepper

Preparation:

Soak some wood chips in water for 15 minutes.

Preheat a charcoal grill.

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients for the BBQ sauce: ketchup, soy sauce, maple syrup, honey, cinnamon, red and black pepper. Mix well and reserve. 

Salt and pepper the chicken thighs and place them on the grill off the heat with soaked wood chips to smoke.

Grill for 20 to 25 minutes until the temperature of the chicken meat reaches 160°F.

Brush the chicken with the BBQ sauce and grill for 3 to 5 minutes.

Serve hot.
