If you're shy about leaving your slow cooker on while you're at work, then this recipe is perfect for you. Plus, who doesn't want to wake up to a delicious-smelling breakfast? Everyone will love this simple dish, from the kids that love the sweetness of the bananas to your happy hubby because it's made with almond milk (and this gives him some extra protein) to YOU because it's also going to help keep off the pounds since this is also a very healthy breakfast thanks to the minimally processed steel-cut oats. Slow CookerBanana Lovers' Oatmeal
Prep: 5 minutes
Slow Cook: 7 hours on Low
Yield: 6 (1 cup) servings
Ingredients:
1 cup steel-cut oats
6 overly ripe, soft bananas
4 cups almond milk
Directions:
1. Peel bananas, place them at the bottom of your slow cooker and mash them with a potato masher or a large spoon.
2. Sprinkle the top with steel-cut oats, then pour in the almond milk.
3. Stir with a spoon, then set the slow cooker for 7 hours on Low.
4. Once done, open, stir again and serve!
