Sleeping bag? Check. Tent? Check. Credit card limit? Check. I'm ready ladies! Whenever Kohl's and Narciso Rodriguez give me the date his clothes are selling at the big retail store, I'm there to do some serious shopping. I will camp out all night if necessary.
According to WWD, the Cuban designer will soon be unveiling a special limited edition collection for Kohl's and I can barely contain my excitement!
Kohl's has been a great outlet for the clothing collections of some of our biggest Latino stars. Daisy Fuentes has sold her products there since 2004 and has enjoyed a healthy over $800 million in sales. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have also a line with the store, one of their last partnership as a married couple.
Vera Wang also works with Kohl's, designing a low priced line that has performed better than expected, but this Rodriguez collaboration is the most high-fashion partnership the retailer has achieved so far. The designer became well known when Caroline Bisset chose one of his wedding gowns for her nuptials with John Kennedy Jr. I will never forget the iconic photo of him kissing her hand coming out of the chapel.
Rodriguez is known for high end fashion. He dresses often big Hollywood stars on and off the Red Carpet, and is one of the first lady Michelle Obama's darling designers. Now, it looks like he's intent on making his mark on mass retail. Rodriguez last partnered with eBay on an eight-piece collection back in 2010.
The Rodriguez and Kohl's camps haven't released official statements regarding the collaboration, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
