We all know that vegetables can be good for you. They help you lose weight and have tons of nutrients and vitamins needed to make (and keep) yourself and your family healthy. But now it turns out that veggies can also make you a real beauty on the outside, too.
Although I grew up as a really picky eater who was afraid of most kinds of fruit and vegetables, I've now learned to embrace a lot of the ones I hated as a kid. Now that I know that certain veggies can make give me skin that much-sought-after rosy glow, it's just one more reason to snack on some baby carrot sticks instead of a bag of chips.

According to Self.com, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland found that certain produce contains yellow-red pigments called carotenoids, which can give your skin a healthy glow. They explain the findings:
Researchers tracked the fruit and veggie intake of 35 Caucasians during a six-week period and noted how their skin tones changed. They found that the more produce they ate, the redder their skin tones became. These changes are considered attractive among other species and may be among humans, too, the researchers write in the study, which was published in the journal PLoS ONE."

Some of the veggies I'll be on the lookout for in the grocery store include carrots, red bell peppers, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries, oranges and grapefruit, red chili peppers, butternut squash, pineapple, mango and papayas. This is reason enough to stock up on some of my (new) favorites.
Since the study recommends 10 fist-sized servings a day, including these in every meal and as snacks will be the most important thing. But with the promise of a healthy glow, it won't be too difficult to do it.
