Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez shut down break-up rumors with ‘happy’ reunion

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are apparently not willing to let their love go so easily. The couple reunited in the Dominican Republic a few days ago after reports surfaced that they had called off their two-year-long engagement. The couple swiftly denied the rumors that they had broken up and met up in the DR, where Jen has been filming her upcoming movie Shotgun Wedding.

Prior to Alex's visit this week, he and Jennifer had not seen each other in person in a few weeks. Now, however, sources are reporting that the two have been enjoying their reunion, and video footage of them getting cozy with each other has surfaced. "They both seem much happier. They are taking things slowly though," a source told People.

First off, the engagement isn't off.

Earlier reports had indicated that while the couple was still together, they had called off their engagement. However, the People source says they are still engaged. "They are far from planning a wedding again, but they are still engaged," the source said, noting that J.Lo is struggling with trust issues.

The reunion is going well.

"They both seem much happier. They are taking things slowly though. They still have a lot to figure out before their relationship is great again," the source said. According to the source, J.Lo and A-Rod spent most of 2020 quarantining together, and now that they are both back to work, they are struggling to maintain their relationship.

They want to make it work.

"Although Jennifer has been filming, she has been able to spend time with Alex too. It has been great for them to spend time in person," the source said, confirming that they are still "taking things slowly" right now.

They are keeping it to themselves for now.

While Jennifer and Alex did make that initial joint statement last week refuting the claims that they had broken up, they have been very private about their reunion so far. Neither has posted a photo or video of the other on their social media accounts all week, which definitely isn't the norm for them.

J.Lo's not giving up yet.

Although the People source said that J.Lo was "very much ready to give up," she hasn't yet. The two have been together for four years and have a lot invested in each other personally and professionally, so it seems that—for now, at least—they're willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.
