
Jennifer Lopez and a slew of other female celebrities took to social media on Monday, March 8, 2021, in honor of International Women's Day, delivering inspiring posts, personal stories, and messages to their own family and close friends. It was a huge show of solidarity and respect among many of entertainment's leading women, particularly during a time in which women have become increasingly outspoken about women's rights, equality, and injustices committed against women.

J.Lo threw it back to a couple of years ago when she released a duet titled "Limitless" with her young daughter Emme Muniz and started a viral social media challenge, encouraging women to post photos of themselves with a sign reading "I Am Limitless," and the hashtag, #IWD2021, inciting droves of women to recognize their own power on the special day. Jennifer Lopez hoped to encourage all women.
Jennifer shared a montage of photos of women holding up their "limitless" signs that included celebrities as well as her own family members and friends. She added a caption that said: "We need to continue to use our voices, stand up and GET LOUD for everything and that we believe in. These women empower other women and truly embody all it is to be #LIMITLESS. You are limitless."
Vanessa Bryant honored the women in her life.
Vanessa Bryant took the day as an opportunity to honor the important women in her own life. She posted an inspiration quote tagging 20 women in the post and commenting that she wished she could tag even more.
Becky G put the focus on change.
On International Women's Day, singer Becky G partnered with two human and civil rights organizations to bring attention to inequality, and encouraged others to post in support of gender equality on IWD.
Chiquis Rivera quoted her mother.
Chiquis Rivera posted a photo of herself on IWD, but quoted her legendary mother, the late Jenni Rivera, in essence saying she'll always stand up for women. "Happy International Women’s Day, Queens!" she wrote to her Instagram followers.
Gloria Estefan exemplified power.
"Women are FREE…Women are STRONG! Celebrating women all over the world on #internationalwomensday ✌️ ❤️ ," Gloria Estefan captioned a gorgeous photo of herself standing against a graffitied wall reading the same thing.
Madonna brought the drama.
"I want to apologize to all the women I've called beautiful before I've called them intelligent or brave," Madonna chanted in a video she posted on Instagram along with a caption wishing all her followers a happy International Women's Day.
Demi Lovato got a little silly.
Demi Lovato threw on the pickle filter on Instagram reels and took a moment to wish every woman she knows as personally—as well as every other woman in the world—a happy International Women's Day. She didn't feel like being on camera, but we love that she took a moment to celebrate.
Kris Jenner honored all the women in her famous family.
Kris Jenner shared a photo of herself and all of the women in her family, from the youngest to the oldest, along with a touching caption that read in part, "Today we celebrate each other.. our strengths, our dreams, our resilience, our passion and our determination."
Pink had her daughter in mind.
Singer Pink posted an adorable silly photo of her own daughter, with whom she recently released a song and wrote: "May we know them, May we raise them, may we be them. And may we support them, Educate them, empower them, champion them, and watch as they naturally and gracefully govern their own bodies and write their own rules."
Salma Hayek highlighted a favorite charity.
Rather than put the attention on herself, actress Salma Hayek highlighted a charitable organization called The Kering Foundation, which she works with to help fight against violence against women. She impressively posted her important message in English, French, and Spanish.
Jessica Alba wants to "smash stereotypes."
Entrepreneur and actress Jessica Alba made an Instagram video drawing attention to the bias and inequality women face in the work force. "We're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions all day, every day – and we should be choosing to empower women and smash stereotypes‼️," she said.
Morgan Radford spoke for the "firsts."
Cuban-American journalist Morgan Radford took the opportunity to speak out for all of us women who have been the "first" at something, whether within our communities or within society at large. She encouraged women like Meghan Markle to find value in who they are and to persist through adversity. "We all need some light in this world. And when it gets dark, know that you can BE the light," she wrote.
Eva Longoria understands the importance of the moment.
"In fields that can be inherently oppressive and exclusive, you still show up and rightfully demand a seat at the table," Eva Longoria wrote on her Instagram. "What's more important though, is you bring others to the table with you. Here's to YOU & the powerful legacy you are creating everyday!"
Christina Aguilera did the limitless challenge her own way.
The ever-creative Christina Aguilera participated in the Limitless Challenge, but instead of the standard, she shared a collection of striking photos and videos from throughout her career, along with a meme of the now-iconic Kamala Harris, "I'm speaking" moment.
Lupita Nyong'o went "super."
Actress Lupita Nyong'o took International Women's Day as an opportunity to introduce her followers to a brand-new cartoon character she's voicing. Super Sema is Africa's first kids' superhero television series and the lead character is an adorable young hero voiced by Lupita.
And because we could all use the inspiration ... here's 'Limitless.'
J.Lo undoubtedly knows how to inspire those close to her as well as women around the world. Her song "Limitless" and the accompanying video are the perfect motivator to get all of us ladies revved up and ready to do big things. We're just gonna go ahead and call it an anthem.
