The number 13 gets a bad rap and is considered to be unlucky by most. However, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's twins, Emme and Max, are probably thinking that 13 is magical—or at least their 13th birthday was magical. The twins, born in 2008, celebrated their 13th birthday on February 22, 2021, alongside their famous mama, who made it a very special celebration for her two "coconuts," as she likes to call them. J.Lo made sure that her now teenagers would enjoy their special day to the fullest degree and went all out to make them feel loved.

The festivities started with breakfast in bed for the twins as Jennifer sang "Good morning, good morning, it's great to stay up late" and watched as they read cards that she had placed on their trays. But, of course, there was more. What kind of more? Oh, you know, guitar lessons from Lenny Kravitz and voice lessons from Stevie Mackey. Must be nice to have such a famous, well-connected mami, but we're not jealous. No, we're totally happy for the twins. Keep scrolling to check out their twintastic celebration.
The twins woke up to breakfast in bed.
Jennifer shared a video of herself delivering breakfast and birthday cards to the twins in bed. They look like they are still wiping the sleep out of their eyes, but their adoring mama is ready to start the celebration. What she wrote to them in the caption of the video is incredibly touching.
What did the twins get for breakfast?
Well, from what we could see on her Instagram stories, they got a hearty breakfast of smiley face eggs and bacon, pancakes, and waffles topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. That's a whole lotta love on a plate.
Jennifer had a hard time putting her feelings into words.
As hard as it was for her to express all that she was feeling on her beloved twins' birthday, she found a way and wrote:
" My beautiful babies are teenagers today!!
OMG!! I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since I carried them both home in my arms in the middle of a snowstorm. Out of that blizzard came two perfect lil’ coconuts who rearranged my life and taught me the true meaning of love. It has been the most magical journey full of adventure and joy ever since… I’m feeling so many emotions this morning…so very emotional today… so proud and happy and heartbroken that I can’t feeeze time. To my two caring, sensitive and special souls…who I know will change and rearrange the world in your own very unique ways…your mama loves you beyond forever.. and ever and ever…"
Emme got guitar lessons from LENNY KRAVITZ!
Can you imagine getting guitar lessons from THEE Lenny Kravitz? Well, Emme doesn't have to because that's exactly what she got for her 13th birthday. Jennifer share video of Lenny teaching Emme an A chord and a D chord like it's no big deal while we're DYING over here.
Don't worry about Max, he got a special lesson, too.
Max got a singing lesson from Stevie Mackey, who is a singer and vocal coach to the stars. He's worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Lenny Kravitz, and now Max Muñiz.
Jennifer asked how Max felt about being a teenager.
"Not any different at all," he replied. Jen told him, "Same thing with 50." You've got to keep reading for Max's response to that because it ended up being a big compliment to Jen.
Max called his mom a 'freak of nature in a good way.'
"You look like you're 23," Max told his mom in a video she shared on her stories. "What'd you say?" she responded. "You look like you're 23 somehow. Freak of nature in a good way," he added.
A birthday bangs mother-and-daughter pic was shared.
Emme has short-ish hair with bangs going on, and she wore it in two cute pigtails at the top of her head. Her proud mama took a picture with her and wrote: "Birthday bangs ❤️ #Lulu." Lulu is one of Jen's nicknames for Emme.
Of course, Jen had to get a pick with her birthday boy, too.
Max stands behind Jennifer while she makes a kissy face for their celebratory birthday pic together. Jen wrote: "Birthday boy ❤️ #Max." Max looks very happy, like he's had a very good birthday indeed.
Emme is adorable!
From the looks of this pic of Emme holding up her fingers in a peace sign, she had a very good birthday as well. Her face looks happy, and her whole being is radiating a certain amount of laid-back joy.
But where was A-Rod, Jen's fiancé?
It appears that Jen took the twins with her to the Dominican Republic while she shoots the movie Shotgun Wedding. "She is spending her twins' big 13th birthday out of town while Alex stays in Miami with his kids," a source told ET. "Alex had work to do, and Jen got some quality time with her kids."
Alex Rodriguez wished the twins a happy birthday on social media.
Even though A-Rod was not with the twins to celebrate, that didn't stop him from wishing them a happy birthday on both his Instagram grid and stories. On his stories, he posted pics of himself with the twins and wrote, "LOVE YOU BOTH!!!"
Alex wrote that he considers himself 'blessed' to have the twins in his life.
Alongside a carousel of beautiful pictures of himself and the twins, he wrote:

A fan account created a beautiful video montage of Jennifer and the twins that gets you right in the feels. Jen liked it so much that she reposted it to her account and wrote:
"I wrote this song “One Step at a Time” when the twins were six weeks old…
Max was already trying to curl up and get out of his chair… I was like “where are you going lil one? Where are you running off to?” All I could think was before I know it they will be running around, and it was already going so fast and I wanted it all to slow down!! Lol. And next thing I know… boom… 13

How is it possible that these babies are 13?
When you become a parent, people tell you to treasure each moment because time flies, and they are not wrong. We remember the first time we saw pictures of Emme and Max, and it feels like it was yesterday. Congrats on becoming the mother of teenagers, Jen! And good luck.
