Candice Swanepoel slammed people who criticized her postpartum body.
The supermodel shared a photo of herself at the beach, which had been floating around online, and criticized people's beauty standards. "This is me 12 days after having my son. If you have something bad to say about it… Check yourself. Society can be so cruel to one another. Beauty standards are sometimes impossible for women these days," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "I am not ashamed to show my postpartum tummy, I am proud actually. I carried my son for nine months in there, I think I've earned the right to have a little tummy. Is it because I'm a model? Well we are normal people too so let me enjoy the beach in peace please."
She added: "We create life, what can you do? Ladies, we are all in this together, be kind to each other."
Ximena Duque reacted when a fan asked if she was pregnant again.
Months after she gave birth to daughter Luna, a fan messaged Ximena to ask her if she was pregnant again. The actress then took to Instagram to give a lengthy response to explain how proud she was to look the way she does because she's letting her body heal after it created a baby.
Chrissy Teigen said the changes won't happen overnight.
Chrissy is super outspoken and shared some words of wisdom for new moms in an interview with E! after giving birth to her daughter Luna in 2016. She said getting back to the pre-pregnancy weight will take time. "You just realize you have to give yourself time and understand that you pushed out a baby, and it took this long to put on the weight, and it's not going to peel right off, and that's OK," she said. "Enjoy your baby. Don't go crazy."
Hilaria Baldwin proudly showed off her postpartum body.
"My purpose here is to normalize the postpartum figure and over the next days, weeks, and months, show you how I strengthen my body and return to my non pregnant self," she captioned a mirror selfie wearing just underwear. "You all came with me through my pregnancy…now it’s time to turn back into me. We all come in different shapes, sizes, and health experiences…but given the right love and care, we can feel really good within our skin. We just have to be patient and kind with our bodies."
Tia Mowry kept it real with her followers.
Tia wanted to shed a light for new moms to learn to go at their own pace when it comes to their weight. "This is MY #postpartum. Two weeks in. Do I still have a belly yes. I actually look like I’m 4 months pregnant and that is OKAY. I wanted to shine a light on how our society creates false expectations after a woman gives birth," she captioned a pic of herself after welcoming her second child, daughter Cairo. "Ladies, it’s okay that our bodies are not PERFECT after our babies are born. Give yourself time. Go at your own pace. Don’t allow people to put a time limit on YOUR body. You’ve just accomplished a miracle!"
Khloe Kardashian believes every mom should do what works for her.
Khloe took to Snapchat to address haters who said she was too focused on her body too soon after giving birth to daughter, True. "What I’m annoyed about is that I’ve read a couple of times on Twitter that, you know, they feel that I’m focusing too much on my body, but the truth is, I’ve worked out five or six days a week before I got pregnant and that’s my sanctuary and something I love to do,” she said. "Just because I have a baby, doesn’t mean I have to stop doing the things that I love, and I love working out and getting my mind right."
Blake Lively thinks it's "absurd" for new moms to pressure themselves.
The actress had to get right back in shape after welcoming daughter James because she was filming the movie The Shallows just months later, and said that's "not normal." So I would really like to see that celebrated," she said.
Mila Kunis revealed it takes a lot of work to "bounce back."
Mila kept it real by slamming moms who say their post-baby body snapped back "naturally," and said it took her “lots of gym-ing” to get her body back after son Dimitri. “I hate someone who's like, ‘This is all natural.’ Bullsh*t. It's not natural,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Kim Kardashian learned how to embrace her body after pregnancy.
Kim revealed that even having trainers and nutritionist didn't help her snap back into shape right away after having son, Saint. "It isn't easy to just bounce back. I was so jealous of women who had these cute little baby bellies and would gain 25 pounds–and then, a few weeks after giving birth, somehow look exactly like they did before they were pregnant, lol. That's not me," she wrote on her app.
She also said she hopes to pass down that self-love to her daughter. "It's my responsibility to make sure she understands that positive body image comes from having a healthy self-esteem. We all have our hang-ups and things we might want to change, but my curves make me who I am. So I embrace my body and the changes I've gone through."
Olivia Wilde revealed she was "softer" than ever after giving birth.
After she gave birth to son, Otis, in 2015, Olivia appeared on the cover of SHAPE magazine but made it clear that the photos were altered with the use of angles and good lighting. "The truth is, I'm a mother, and I look like one," she said. "I believe in a world where mothers are not expected to shed any physical evidence of their child-bearing experience,"
She added; "In that same world, I believe there is space for exercise to be as much a gift to your brain as it is your body. I don't want to waste my time striving for some subjective definition of perfection."
Eva Mendes didn't care about not fitting into her old clothes.
Eva Mendes was in no rush to get back to her old self after giving birth to her second child in 2016. "I just don't put a lot of pressure on myself," she told Extra at the time. "I try to take care of myself as far as eating right and things like that, but especially so soon after a baby, I'm like, 'It's OK, I don't need to fit into my jeans for a while, I'm all right.' Maybe if I never fit into my original jeans, it's fine, it's all good."
Melani Olivares had no shame in her post-baby game.
