Mama June Shannon has made quite the transformation in the past year. The 38-year-old reality star and mom dropped 300 pounds from 460 pounds and the result is remarkable. She credits mainly portion control though we have to admit, some of her other tips are a little out there.

We've seen Mama June evolve through all these years. Honey Boo Boo's mom made her TV debut on a season of TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras, which featured her daughter Alana Thompson, a.k.a Honey Boo Boo, who was 6 years old at the time and competing in beauty pageants. The show centered on child pageant queens and Honey Boo Boo was such a breakout, there were memes with her catchphrases: "redneckonize" and "a dolla makes me holla."

Sounds familiar?
Shortly after, TLC gave Alana a spinoff show called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which focused on her family in Georgia and after three season the show ended in 2014, but Mama June's dramatic weight loss lead to another spinoff called Mama June: From Not to Hot, which documents how she lost those impressive 300 pounds. The second season debuts on Friday, January 12.
Mama June Shannon weighed 460 pounds at her heaviest.
This was her back in 2015 at the premiere of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and Ex-isle. What a difference!
This is how she’s looked since the transformation.
The transformation is mind-blowing.
"It’s all about portion control for me," she told People exclusively. "It's not easy to eat like you're supposed to and hit the gym all the time, but I’m just trying to maintain it the best I can."
With that said, some of Mama June’s diet habits are not exactly healthy.
She admitted that she sleeps until 1 p.m. so that she can skip out on breakfast. "This sounds bad," she said. "But I’m more of a snacker."
But she has go-to snacks.
And her dinners are pretty lean.
She sticks to baked chicken and quinoa or baked pork chops with corn and beans.
She allows herself sweets every now and again.
"If I’m craving something sweet, Little Debbie jelly cakes are my favorite cheat snack," she says.
But she also got a lot of help from plastic surgery.
You can see her entire transformation story on WE tv’s Mama June: From Not to Hot, where she shares how she spent up to $75,000 on gastric sleeve surgery, breast augmentation, and skin removal surgery for her "turkey neck," "bat wings" and stomach.
Listen, we're not judging.
If it makes her feel good and confident about herself, that's all that matters.
