Chiquis Rivera opens up about not wanting to have babies until her 40s & it makes total sense

Chiquis Rivera__ has been through a lot. Less than a month ago she opened up on Instagram about a recent surgery she had to remove an ovarian cyst. The singer, who appears to be in good health now, shared with Univision how she's still not fully recovered and how she doesn't plan to have kids until her 40s.

More from MamásLatinas: Chiquis Rivera opens up to fans about her ovarian cyst surgery

It's been about four weeks since Chiquis' ovarian cyst removal surgery, and though she's well and still performing, she's also being very careful about her health. So much so, she's considered freezing her eggs so that she can become a mom at a later age, possibly in her 40s.

Chiquis also expressed how happy she is in her relationship with boyfriend Lorenzo Mendez. Considering she's already 32, it makes sense that she'd want to freeze her eggs. But naturally one would wonder, why would a woman her age in a happy relationship want to wait until 40 to have a baby?

Well for starters, if Chiquis is referring so much to her health, there may be some possible health risks to her getting pregnant right now or so shortly after surgery. It could also be a combination of things. It's quite possible that Chiquis also wants to continue focusing on her singing career, which seems to be taking off and probably also wants to give her relationship with Lorenzo time to grow. Let's not forget that the two did break up for a little while.

Chiquis claims she needed to breakup to work on herself. "I care about Lorenzo," she had said in a previous interview. "I have nothing bad to say about him. Right now we're taking a break for some time and that has been the case for a while. I wanted to keep it to myself because it's my private life. It's hard, but we are taking a break. I have to heal some wounds."

I think it's a very mature and responsible move on Chiquis' part right now to freeze her eggs so that she doesn't have to rush herself into getting pregnant. Timing is everything and if she's not ready to be a mom right now, whether it's because of her health or because she wants to keep working on herself, I totally get and respect that. Time will tell.
