I nearly fell off my seat when I learned Dominican fitness influencer and celebrity trainer Massy Arias was selected as CoverGirl's newest ambassador. Not only does she have 2.3 million followers, but she has totally kicked society's beauty standards to the curb. Arias is proof that beauty is diverse and strong, and how can we not love her for that?

Arias has been in the fitness game for a while, but it's her intense workouts documented on Instagram that have helped bring her the fame she has today. Women love her because despite her hardcore training, Arias is still relatable. She's not afraid to get real about her flaws and insecurities in a post. She's also proof that a women can be just as strong as men and now that's just dope!

And as much as she loves a good workout, Arias is also a total beauty lover. "There's stigma around wearing makeup at the gym, but there are times I proudly rock a full face, especially when I'm filming and want that extra dose of confidence before putting myself out there in front of millions of people," she said in a press release for the brand.

I have to say, I'm really proud of CoverGirl. They have really made it a point to include more women of color as ambassadors for their brand. In fact, back in 1992 CoverGirl crowned their first black CoverGirl, Canadian model, Lana Ogilvie. Just in the past month alone we've seen both Issa Rae and Ayesha Curry announced as CoverGirl. Seeing them crown not just a Latina but an Afro-Latina this time around is nothing less than inspiring.
