Woman tries to pop what she thought was a pimple & ends up in the hospital

We all know by now that popping a pimple can lead to serious scarring and pesky manchas. Plus, with all the spot-treatments out there like the Mario Badescu Dry Lotion or the new Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Spot, why would anyone even consider squeezing their spots? But apparently Katie Wright couldn't resist, and the consequences were brutal. We're talking Staph infection brutal.

Here's where Wright went wrong. According to reports, she was experiencing one of those under-the-skin pimples on her forehead. In other words, no white head on it. But here's the problem, because it didn't have a head and was inflamed, the squeezing only made it worse.

"A week ago I decided to pick at what I thought was a giant under the skin pimple because it had been hurting for a while and got too painful to ignore," she wrote on Twitter. 'Within an hour my entire face swelled up and HURT. It felt like something was going to burst out of my skin."

But wait, it doesn't end there.

It turns out, Wright's pimple was actually an infection, which explain the intense pain. Apparently she was experiencing a serious infection that was triggered after using a dirty eyebrow pencil brush. Can you believe that?

"I went to the emergency room and they said it was a very serious case of cellulitis, which is a version of a Staph infection, but instead of having a head like Staph, it effects the deep cellular tissues with no main source to attack," she said. "Since it was on my face, there was a huge risk of it spreading to my brain or my eyes causing me to go blind. Serious sh*t."

That is some serious sh*t, indeed. Imagine attempting to pop a pimple only to discover you have a Staph infection? That's a pretty big deal. Wright went on Twitter to let people to really stay on top of cleaning their makeup brushes,  brow brushes included.

"I'm super strict on washing my face/beauty blender/brushes, but I never thought to disinfect my eyebrow spooly," she said. "If you wear makeup, PLEASE make that a step in your cleansing routine."

Apparenly the Staph infectionr resulted in some expensive medical bills from her hospital visit. Wright even created a GoFundMe page so folks can help her pay off some of this medical debt. It's that serious.

The lesson to be learned here is: Clean all your makeup tools and don't ever attempt to pop a pimple or anything that slightly resembles one!
