Erika Canela is making headlines for more than just her famous curves. The Miss BumBum winner recently got a controversial tattoo that has many people outraged. Canela ended up "branding" her body by getting inked "Made in Brazil, Valid for 2017." You have to see the photo for yourself.
More from MamásLatinas: Miss BumBum wants to do something crazy to her vagina!
To me, this is typical Miss BumBum type of behavior. Canela is doing this for attention–and that's exactly what she's getting. It doesn't matter whether it's positive or negative attention. She thrives off of the headlines–just like the chismes that Cristiano Ronaldo invited her out for dinner while he was away from his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
Regardless, I think the tattoo can be interpreted as having patriotic pride for Brazil. It can also be taken as a metaphor for how Miss BumBums are seen in this world by some: as animals. While I don't agree with it and feel this photo gives Latinas a bad name, I also acknowledge that it's not my body to rule over.
It's Canela's body and she can do what she wants.
