Being a single mom is one of the toughest jobs out there and this new viral post proves it. Allison Brothers took her two boys to the grocery store and suffered an emotional breakdown just minutes after getting back into her car. On her Facebook page, she revealed a very dark and real side of motherhood that's hardly ever shared. This woman is brave.

"This is motherhood," the tearful 22-year-old mom wrote as the start of her caption. Brothers is smiling, but there's sadness in her eyes. She had one of those days when you're physically, mentally and emotionally drained, but are forced to go out in public and go about your business. As a new mom, I've been there. We all have.
Brothers gave a rundown of her experience at the market with sons Bentley and Levi (seen below). It's a play-by-play we've all experienced at some point whether as a parent or witness:
My two blonde haired, blue eyed, angel faced toddlers were not so angelic today. It was 8:00 in the morning and we were out of milk. We took a trip to the store because if you know my kids; you know they survive on chocolate milk. But they weren't having it. My youngest cried almost the entire time we were in the store. He didn't want to sit in the cart, he didn't want to be buckled, he wanted to hold all the groceries on his lap. He got mad. He threw his shoe, he threw my wallet, he threw the three groceries that did fit on his lap. And he cried. And people stared.
Oh, the judgmental glares of strangers while you're trying to buy some milk at the market. It sucks. Even if they aren't judging, you feel like they're about to grant you with the 'worse mother of the year award.' It sucks. I feel for her.
Parenting is hard. I'm lucky enough to have a partner I'm able to share those challenges with. We're in this journey together. No matter what type of day we have, we lean on each other–as a family. I've always given single moms props for their strength and resilience. No matter what, you survive for the sake of your kids because you have little ones who need you more than anything in this world.
We should all try to judge less and support more. "So if you see a parent struggling, if you see a kid throwing a tantrum, if you see a mom on the verge of tears…please say something nice," she writes.
It's the best lesson we can pass down.
