Refresh your cutting board
If you have an old cutting board like me, you know it can get pretty funky at times. Disinfect the board naturally by rubbing the cut side of a lemon on the board and rinsing with warm water.
Keep insects away
Insects are not fans of fresh lemon smell. To keep them away, squirt some lemon juice on windowsills and doorways. Don't miss any holes and cracks that ants can crawl into. This way they'll know that they're not welcomed in your home.
Brightens nails
Lemon can help fortify and brighten your nails, too. Just add the juice of 1/2 lemon to 1 cup warm water and soak your fingernails in the mixture for 5 minutes. You'll notice and feel a difference.
Freshens breath
Since lemons are high in acidic content, they're a great way to freshen your breath naturally. Just cut a piece of lemon wedge and suck on it for a few minutes.
Removing kitty smell
We all know kitty litter does not smell pleasant. To freshen the area, add a couple of lemon rinds to the litter. Even your cat will thank you for it.
Cleaning microwave
You don't have to use chemical-filled products to clean your microwave. Heat 1/2 cup of water and the juice of one lemon in the microwave. Let stand for 5 minutes and then wipe away.
Remove yellow armpit stains
How annoying are yellow armpit stains? Lemons work just as well as bleach without the harsh chemicals. Take a sliced lemon and rub it on the area. Scrub the fabric and wash as normal. You'll have a t-shirt that looks brand new!
Natural food preservative
Whether it's to prevent veggies from getting brown or keeping lettuce crisp, lemon is a great way to naturally preserve your food.
Deodorant
The acid in lemon can help kill the bacteria under your arms that causes bad odors. If you forget your deodorant at home, rubbing a lemon slice under your arms will do the trick.
Glass cleaner
Lemon is also an amazing glass cleaner. Whether you use it straight or dilute with some water, it'll get the job done.
