Shakira & Gerard Piqué on summer break with Sasha & Milan + 10 tips for an amazing family vacation

It's time for a summer break for the Pique family! Shakira and her partner Gerard Pique were spotted with their sons Milan and Sasha at a Barcelona airport this week. The family reportedly jet-setted on a private plane for a family vacation. The destination remains a mystery, but I'm sure Shaki's little ones are going to have a blast. The Colombian singer traveled along with her two nannies and two assistants. What a life! We may not have the luxury Shaki has, but being prepared is as good as having all of that hired help! Be mindful of your budget

Families tend to overspend during vacation, which could cause major anxiety once you get back from relaxing break. Be mindful of freebies and discounts in the area and make a list of the activities or items you are willing to spend on.

Pick a kid-friendly hotel

Most kid-friendly hotels are located in central areas near plenty of activities, tourist sites and restaurants. Your little ones will also appreciate the kiddie pool and being close to the beach.

Take frequent breaks when road tripping

Young kids aren't able to go long distances in the car without a break. Plan to stop every two hours to stretch and rest. Try to find interesting historical sites or scenic views that you can enjoy during the rest point.

Pack familiar games

Kids love their electronics, but you don't want them glued to the devices during the trip. Plan for extra quality time by packing family-friendly games like board games or chess. These are also great options if the weather doesn't allow for outdoor activities.

Try to check-in online so you go through express lines and select preferred seating. Make sure you have your kid's favorite blanket or toy on hand and it's always helpful to have an extra change of clothes for them in your carry-on.

You want to visit your pediatrician before a major trip–especially if you're going to be traveling abroad. Make sure your kids are cleared of the vaccines they need and don't forget to pack a first-aid kit.
