A teen girl in India named Kavita Kumari was addicted to eating hair and the situation got really… well, hairy. The 15-year-old would reportedly eat hair from the floor or even pluck her classmates hair out and eat it. As if that's not bizarre enough, Kumari lost her appetite for food and vomited whenever she was force fed. Her strange addiction led her to suffer from severe abdominal pain and doctors had to perform an endoscopy. Doctors must have been shocked when they pulled this massive hair ball out of a teen girl in India. Kavita Kumari's stomach eventually couldn't support her food intake and she started vomiting each time she was force fed. Doctors performed an endoscopy to remove the hairball and Kumari recovered well.

Back in February, news hit that a baby girl in China was born pregnant with twin fetuses inside of her. The poor infant suffered from fetus-in-fetu, a condition that occurs when a developing fetus dies and gets "absorbed" by the healthy twin. The fetuses were removed and studied. This story surfaced in May and was truly inspiring and heartbreaking. A Nebraskan mom named Karla Perez suffered a stroke and was declared brain dead while expecting her unborn child. The 22-year-old mom-to-be was in a coma and struggling for her life. Her family decided to keep her alive until she gave birth to her son. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy, but passed away right after.

Last year, a boy from Morocco named Yahya made headlines due to his rare facial deformity, which included being born without eyes, nose or a jaw. Adele Rivas was diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer when she was 34 years old. Doctors declared that she was infertile and had a very small chance of getting pregnant naturally. A few months later, the couple confirmed they were expecting a baby. Rivas got a mastectomy during her first trimester and proceeded with chemotherapy in her second and third trimesters. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Constantine in October 2014.
