Repair damaged hair overnight with these 5 miracle treatments

__I abuse my hair a lot: I blow dry, curl, straighten, occasionally get a Brazilian keratin treatment and color it. I've had a perm in the past and tend to go from one color to another more than anyone would ever recommend. The last time I asked my hair for advice on a hairstyle I was considering, she said, "What does it matter? You'll change it in two months, anyway."

It's a funny statement, mostly because it's true. Today my hair is barely below my earlobes and colored red, whereas a month and a half ago it was halfway down my back and almost black. I do so much damage to it that some days I wake up and all I see is a frizzy, dry, brittle mess. But I've figured out the absolute best way to repair damaged hair overnight.

First, wash your hair with a gentle shampoo in the evening. Squeeze all the water or dry with a towel until it is damp. Then, apply a palm-sized dollop of deep conditioner to your hair, concentrating on the ends. Comb through, then wrap your hair in a do-it-yourself wrap (I seal the conditioner with a plastic grocery bag, then cover my hair with a towel) and go to bed. Your hair will condition overnight and you can simply wash it off the next morning. It may be a bit limp that first day, but you'll notice the difference after your regular shampoo-and-condition routine the next day. Do this at least once a month to keep your hair shiny and healthy. These are my favorite deep conditioners:

Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak, $25: This was the first deep conditioner that I tried and it still remains my favorite, thanks to it rescuing my hair in a month when I went from red to brown and back to red.

Pantene Expert Collection Rejuvenating Hydration Mask, $15: It should be your go-to mask if you're trying to grow our your hair. It helps strengthen brittle hair to resist breakage and keep growing long.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, $7: I love using this one right after I have just colored my hair. It's made especially for over-processed hair, which mine often is thanks to daily blow drying and monthly coloring sessions.

Kuza Coconut Crème Deep Conditioner, $6: I found this one through a friend and have loved it, especially after getting my perm. It's safe on color treated or relaxed hair, plus coconut oil is one of the healthiest ingredients for your body.

Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask, $74.40: Although this mask claims to only need a 5-minute treatment (and, yes, it's a little pricey), I love leaving it on overnight and letting my hair soak in all of the richness from the argan oil and wake up to super soft locks.
