I always say a fabulous outfit starts with the right bra. Trust me, the right bra can make your boobs look perkier, your clothes look better and your body look slimmer. Yes, it's that important! So important in fact, that wearing the same two or three bras every day isn't going to get you very far–at least not when it comes to looking pulled together. I'm telling you, girl, it's what underneath that counts!

The T-shirt bra
The T-shirt bra is probably the most important bra to own. It's comfortable, seamless and looks smooth underneath a fitted shirt, hence the name. No bumps, lumps or nip slips here! Gap.com, $40
Demi bra
A demi-cup bra is necessary for V-neck or scoop-neck tops. Gilt.com, $49
Nude bra
A nude T-shirt bra is a undergarment must-have. I recommend you have at least two or three. Herroom.com, $112
Balconette bra
Want awesome looking cleavage? Make sure to get yourself a balconette bra. It adds lift and gives boobs great shape. Hm.com, $18
Sports bra
There’s no question about it, every woman NEEDS to own a couple of sports bras. What else do you plan on wearing to the gym? Underarmour.com, $30
The bralette
Bralette bras are wireless and tend to work better for smaller cup sizes that don’t need much support. Perfect for lazy days when you just want to lounge around in your sweats but don’t want to actually go braless. Freepeople.com, $38
Push-up
Doesn’t matter how big or perky your boobs are, every woman should own a good push-up bra. Who doesn’t need a little extra boost? Victoriassecret.com, $60
Plunge bra
If you’re into V-neck tops or dresses, then you absolutely need a plunge bra in your panty drawer. Thirdlove.com, $29
Bandeau bra
Bandeaus bras are perfect for comfy strapless maxi dresses or even under tanks. Think casual summertime outfits. I must warn you though, they offer absolutely no support so it’s definitely better for smaller bust (cup size A-C). Kohls.com, $16
Strapless bra
Every woman needs at least one good strapless bra in her wardrobe. I recommend one with silicone edging for a stay-put fit. Victoriassecret.com, $50
