Time to get the Christmas decorations out of storage, crank up the music and decorate the house with the whole family. Let your kids have a say in how things look too, it isn't much fun to always be told how to do things.

Connect with relatives that are far away. You can do it on the phone or via Skype or something similar. Get the whole family in on the calls. It's important for your kids to feel a connection to relatives who they don't see regularly and this is the perfect time of the year to call up loved ones and check in.

Visit

If you are within driving distance of relatives you haven't seen recently, go visit them. Spend time with them in person. You never know how much time any of us has left.

Go for a family walk. If it's cold, bundle up and get to steppin'! Walking is truly underrated and a beautiful way to experience your surroundings.

Why must we always be doing something? What if you just spend the day relaxing together? How often do you really get to do that? Stay home, plan nothing, play some games, eat, take naps, enjoy each other.
