11 Celebrities that grew up in the Army

We often don't think of famous people as army brats, but they're out there! Growing up in military families has its pros and cons, but there is no lack of pride about it. Just like average folks, these celebs had to bounce around from state to state or live abroad due to their family members serving this country. In honor of Veterans Day, we are counting down eleven celeb army brats that are proud of their servicemen and women.

The former MTV VJ grew up as an army brat and makes sure to give back. In 2012, she joined forces with ShoeDazzle to design a pair of shoes for military charity. "Growing up, my father was in the Air Force, so I have an understanding of what it's like to have a loved one overseas during life's biggest events," she said.

The mother of two moved around a lot as a kid since her father served in the US Air Force. They lived in Del Rio, Texas before settling in California. "When I was about eight, my dad came out of the military and we moved to quite an upmarket part of Los Angeles. We were totally the odd kids out," she said in an interview with UK's Mirror.

Ciara's father named Carlton Harris served in the U.S. Army. The pop singer was born in Texas, but bounced around states including California, New York and Arizona before settling down in Atlanta during her teen years.

The Dominican and Puerto Rican actress' dad Rafael Rodriguez served in the U.S. army. Rodriguez grew up in Texas before settling in New Jersey when she was 17 years old. Perhaps her dad has inspired her to play so many bad ass roles!

Pink is known for being a tough cookie and some of that may have come from her army vet dad named Jim Moore. The singer’s father served in the Vietnam war and she even dedicated a song to him titled, “My Vietnam.”

Xtina has been open about her difficult past with her dad Fausto, who served as a Army Sergeant. She opened up about her relationship and said, "[It's] pretty nonexistent. I'm in a place in my life where I just don't see a reason for it."

The famous twins' dad Tim was in the U.S. Army when they were born and later became a police officier in Glendale, California. Tia spoke to The Huffington Post about living on the army base growing up. "I thought that was the coolest thing. You can step outside of your home and see people who are serving your country," she said.
