Congratulations are in order for Shayne Lamas and her husband Nik Richie. The VH1 Couples Therapy stars are expecting their second child, but Shayne isn't actually pregnant. In fact, they're clearing up some pregnancy rumors that have been circling around. Turns out someone else is going to be carrying their child!

"Shayne it not pregnant [but] thanks to Dr. Smotrich [of La Jolla IVF Clinic], he was able to stimulate her ovaries to produce eggs which he converted to embryos," Richie told Us Weekly. "Someone else is carrying our child. We are truly excited to expand our family."
It looks like the couple decided to get a surrogate after Shayne was hospitalized from a miscarriage that almost took her life in February. She had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where they had to perform a "life-saving" emergency hysterectomy. Not only were they not able to save the unborn child, but this also meant that Shayne wouldn't be able to get pregnant again. She even talked about how difficult that moment was for her at the multi-season Couples Therapy reunion on Wednesday night.
After recovery Shayne said in a statement: "Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone. I'm out of ICU at Mission Viejo Hospital. I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me."
Shayne and Nik definitely haven't had it easy. It had to be hard to lose a baby and on top of that have her uterus removed during an emergency surgery. I can't even imagine how happy and overwhelmed they must feel now knowing that they'll be able to have a second child. I couldn't be happier for them and I wish them the best!
