1. Think twice before brushing right after eating acidic foods as it can weaken the enamel on your teeth. If you're feeling really yucky about your mouth, rinse with water, and then wait about 40 minutes before brushing.

2. Driving down the highway with the windows open can expose you to more toxic fumes that lead to various health risks like headaches and cancer. So roll those windows up, turn on the air conditioning and recirculate the air inside your vehicle to limit your pollution intake. Bonus, you don't have to worry about passersby listening to you wail out your favorite Rihanna tune.

3. Instead of microwaving food in plastic containers, which can expose your food to harmful phthalates, use glassware to heat up your meal. Better yet, forego nuking it altogether and reheat it on a stovetop, if possible.

It's much lower than the .08 legal limit, but you can see that even just partaking in a little happy hour drink is enough to impair your judgment.

5. Admit it: you sometimes take your smartphone to bed with you to check on emails and squeeze in some Facebooking before calling it a night. Well did you know that this leads to poor sleep and waking up tired? I was super guilty of this and at times I'd grab my phone off the dresser if I just happened to wake up in the middle of the night. Now the phone stays in the living room and far, far from reach so I can go right back to sleep.
