Treating myself to spa days and facials is my indulgence, but with all the beauty treatments gone wrong stories I've been hearing, I'm almost too paranoid to book another appointment. The Queen of Versailles star and mom of eight Jackie Siegel looked like a hot mess after suffering a major allergic reaction to a laser treatment. Her face was covered in red blotches and peeling skin that looked like she fried herself for hours in the sun. It's terrible!

Poor Jackie was just trying to treat herself to a nice laser treatment, celebrating the end of a long-lasting lawsuit that she and her husband, David Siegel, had over building America's largest home, valued at $100 million. After the treatment was done, Siegel saw her face and completely freaked out. She even went complaining to the doctor who advised her that the side effects were okay.
How was that okay? The woman's entire face was beet red with blotches and peeling all over the place, even reaching down to her neck. Apparently Siegel had experienced an allergic reaction to the laser, something no one anticipated happening. Fortunately, the swelling went down and her face eventually cleared but it took about a week for that to finally happen. I'm just glad things went back to normal. Could you imagine if something permanent would have happened, like that poor girl who had her brows burned off?
As much as I love them, I have no plans of stepping foot in a spa anytime soon. Call me paranoid, but I've heard stuff that's pretty much traumatized me for life. I'll never forget that beauty blogger from Singapore who had the most horrific reaction to a spa facial EVER. She literally had small balls of pus all over her face. Sorry, but I'll stick to my DIY facial masks (at least for now) thank you very much!
