Little 2-year-old Drances was wandering in his aunt Cynthia Conner's backyard before he fell into a swimming pool without his floaties. The toddler was practically drowning by the time she found him. "He was purple. He was lifeless," Conner told Fox 8 News. "When they picked him up–he had no, nothing."
Fortunately for Drances, his aunt was already speaking to an officer on her front lawn about an incident regarding her fence. When she realized what had happened with her neighbor, she alerted the police officer who then called for backup. Officer Quintana arrived to the scene finding the two-year-old unconscious. "Honestly, I've been a police officer for eight years," he said. "I've seen some pretty serious stuff, but [this is] probably the only time that I've ever been scared."
Quintana immediately hit the record button on his body camera and started giving the boy chest compressions while Conner was giving mouth-to-mouth. Within a matter of seconds Drances was brought back to consciousness. He was then taken to the hospital, released a few days later and now in perfect health. What could have ended in an ugly outcome resulted in a rescue–all thanks to this heroic cop!
