As mid-summer rolls around, you're probably starting to run out of ideas for keeping your kids busy and entertained each and every day during their school break. And I'm willing to bet you're already hearing cries of boredom. Instead of relinquishing them to the television, computer or video games for the next month, I say kick them outside. Of course we know that just sending them out the back door won't do much, so below you'll find video instructions for five fun outdoor activities and games to keep your kids active this summer.

While some of these ideas may seem to young or too advanced for your particular set of children, keep in mind that you can always make modifications for age appropriateness.
Jump Rope: Jump rope may seem way too obvious, but if you teach your kids some fun rhymes to jazz up this classic activities, it'll add a whole new dimension. Especially, if you use these Spanish rhymes.

El Bote: El Bote is a Latino version of Hide and Seek. Check out the video below to find out what makes it different from the standard version your kids are probably used to.

Sharks and Castaways: This game is actually a themed version of tag that involves an island, castaways and sharks. I don't know any kid that doesn't love a good game of tag, and Sharks and Castaways is a great way to impress kids who've seen (or played) it all.

Family Field Day: For an entire day of outdoor family fun, plan a family field day. It doesn't have to be complicated–in fact you can do it using just ordinary household items–and it doesn't need to involve tons of people, so you may be able to throw one together last-minute. Get some ideas in the video below.

Water Obstacle Course: Using items you probably already have on hand–a hose, a sprinker, chairs, an outdoor table, etc.–you can throw together a fun water obstacle course that will keep your kiddos cool while the run around outside. The ideas in the video below are a great place to get started, but your could recruit your kids for helping inventing some obstacles as well.
