HUNDREDS of kids rescued from Mexican orphanage that sexually abused them

A Mexican woman has been arrested for holding more 450 children in her home and subjecting them to sexual, mental and physical abuse as well as awful living conditions. Parents entrusted Rosa de Carmen Verduzco of Zamora in Michoacan with the care of their children, but when they tried to take their children back home were met with resistance and suspicions that something was not quite right. Crazy thing is that authorities have been asked to investigate Verduzco's operation since 2010!

Verduzco took in troubled children and those who were living under poor conditions, adults included, but then she turned right around and had them living worse off. The House of the Big Family, which has been running for 40 years, housed 462 children and 138 adults up to the age of 40 and had them living in squalor, begging on the streets and eating rotten food. Parents who didn't know any better would sign their kids over to Verdusco's care, but then be denied the ability to bring them back home or visit with them. Enough parents raised hell on local authorities until a raid was finally conducted, but what I want to know is what took so long for police to take action? It took two years between the time those complaints were filed and when the children were rescued from this orphanage from hell.

Verduzco, who was taken into custody this week along with eight employees, has previously said that parents would need to prove that their conditions have been improved before they would release the children back to their care. Oh the hypocrisy!

I don't understand how such a large operation can conduct so much abuse and still slip by undetected. According to a 2010 article in El Universal, a child welfare specialist alluded to Verduzco's political connections as the reason why allegations that have gone back for two decades never landed her in any hot water. Looks like she's finally going to task for her unthinkable crimes.
