Ay mamás, can you believe 2014 is just about halfway gone? That's crazy, I say. Time to assess a bit, no? Because you know what they say, those who don't assess risk becoming asses. Okay, fine no one except me says that, but I digress. Let's evaluate, shall we? Where are we as a planet, a nation, a people? Okay, those are rather hefty topics to get into, why don't we just stick to baby names instead? Where are we with baby names right around now? What are the most popular baby names of 2014 so far? The rankings are based on the number of views that each name attracted during the first half of the year, it gives an idea of what names are being considered for babies to be born in the next few months.
And without further ado, here are the top 20 baby names for 2014 … so far:
For girls
1. Imogen (From Shakespeare y'all, how literary)

4. Finn (Another unisex pick that came in at #43 for the girls)
5. Oliver

Hmm, interesting. I have to say that I like the name Imogen, it has a certain something and I can understand why parents to be would be drawn to it. I do have to point out that I'm not crazy about the name Declan, but probably only because I'm not familiar with it. Apparently it is the name of an Irish saint. I just hope some American fool doesn't decide to spell it DeKlan because that is just wrong.
