When it comes to kitchen gadgets I tend to be a minimalist. I'm not a minimalist in other areas–just take a look at how many shoes I own–but with kitchen gadgets I've learned that more is not necessarily better. With that said, there are some kitchen gadgets that I cannot do without because they are awesome and totally useful. Of couse you know I'm going to tell you what they are because I totes magotes think you should own them too.

Immersion blender
A hand-held immersion blender is amazing! I use mine to cream soups right in the pot, mash potatoes, whip cream and so many more things. It's easier to clean and use than a regular blender and also way less bulky.
Meat thermometer
A meat thermometer is essential. How else you gonna know if that chicken or turkey or beef or pork is done like it needs to be done?
Microplaner
I call this tool a microplaner, some call it a zester. Whatever you call it, if you don't have one, get one. You can zest with this, you can use it for parmesan, whole nutmeg or cinnamon, it's awsome and grates things much finer than your regular grater.
Garlic press
I'm not gonna lie, I used to think a garlic press was unnecessary because how hard is it to chop garlic? But not anymore. A garlic press makes it easier to use fresh garlic for bread, dips and dressings.
Lime press
Of course you can squeeze limes or lemons by hand but nowhere near as effectively as you can with a lime press. This baby will turn half a lime inside out and get all the yummy juice out. Think of how much faster you could have a margarita made with fresh lime juice.
