Splurging on a professional blowout isn't cheap, especially when you're getting them done on a weekly basis like me! There's nothing worse than paying a visit to the salon just to have your hair become limp and frizzy by the next morning. It hurts me every time–ugh! But what if you could manage to make your freshly washed blowout last for four or even five days? Trust me, girl, it's possible! It just requires a few simple tweaks to your hair routine. Check them out!

Most chicks I know get professional blowouts done, only to wash it out the next day. That makes absolutely NO sense to me. Why pay a visit to your hairstylist's chair if you can't even rock the style for at least one more day? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty frugal when it comes to spending. If I'm going to pay $25 for a blowout I'm going to make sure it lasts me for days and days … and days. Here's what you need to do to make your blowout last!

Apply a styling product

You never want to get a professional blowout done or even do a DIY blowout at home, without having some sort of styling product applied to your damp hair first. This doesn't just protect your hair from heat-damage, but it leaves hair smooth, silky and frizz-free for days. I use Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream ($37). It works wonders!

Wear a shower cap

To get your blowout to last you for days, use a shower cap that 's going to protect and maintain your blowout while you shower. I recommend a cloth-lined one, like DryBar The Morning After Shower Cap ($15) because unlike plastic ones, it won't make you sweat or create frizz.

Use a scrunchie

Most hair elastic bands leave creases or dents on your stands. Instead, pull your hair into a low ponytail before going to sleep using a soft, scrunchie. I like the Goody Scrunchie Ouchless Starry Nights Collection ($6).

Get a dry shampoo

On those mornings where your strands look limp, spritz some dry shampoo to your roots. It helps combat oil and gives hair a much needed lift. Try DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo ($20).

Use a curling iron

If by day 4 or 5 p.m. your strands look lifeless, don't be afraid to wrap sections around a medium-sized curling iron to create some extra bounce and texture. Try Remington Large Pearl Ceramic Professional Curling Wand ($22).
