SEE: $1,000 sundae + the 8 most expensive dishes in the world

Just a little over a week after a Chicago restaurant unveiled their extravagant $100 grilled cheese sandwich, a New York eatery is now selling a $1,000 ice cream sundae. That's right…a grand for one freakin' dessert!

So what exactly makes Bagatelle's "Malboussin Mega Sundae" so pricey? Read on to find out!

Apparently, the sundae, which just went on sale, consists of scoops of vanilla ice cream (wow, fancy) and Dom Perignon Rose sorbet topped with chocolate truffles, macaroons, whipped cream, chocolate vodka sauce, gold leaf topping and gilded brownies … whatever those are. How do you even gild a brownie anyway?

But that's not all. Oh no, it also comes complete with its very own bling–a Malboussin ring band made of black steel and white gold that typically runs for $530. Right, 'cause that's what I always think is missing from my ice cream. A side of fancy jewelry!

I love ice cream as much as the next person, but I'm pretty sure most people would agree that this creation is pretty ludicrous. I mean, even without the ring, the dessert still costs a whopping $470!

The craziest part is that this is hardly the first restaurant to put a big price tag on a dish. Check out some more of the most expensive dishes in the world below:
