Days after Shayne Lamas, the 28-year-old daughter of 80s heartthrob Lorenzo Lamas, suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage at 20 weeks into her second pregnancy, she and her husband, Nik Richie, have revealed the name they chose for their baby boy after his death.
According to TMZ, the couple decided to name their infant together days after his death, settling on Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie. Richie says he chose Rex because he always wanted a son with that name and Jagger is a tribute to musician Mick Jagger. Ugh, doesn't that just break your heart?

The mourning dad also shared a moving letter he wrote to his late son, whom he nicknamed R.J. "God has a plan for us all. He gave me an amazing son who will always watch over our family," the note reads. "You saved your mother's life with your passing and I will never forget how much this means to me, R.J." Richie goes on to say that the boy showed him "how to love," writing:
I need you to know that I held you, spoke to you, kissed you and that you'll be remembered. You are perfect. You will always be my son. I'm proud of you, always. I love you, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie.
The note comes after news broke that Lamas was taken to the hospital after collapsing in her home. She suffered a miscarriage undergoing an emergency surgery and is reportedly still recovering in intensive care.
So unbelievably sad. Reading Richie's letter to the son he never got to know honestly brought tears to my eyes. Losing a baby is unspeakably devastating and no parent should ever have to experience it. I only hope that Lamas recovers soon and that they can find a way to gradually heal from this tragedy and move on together. My prayers go out to them and their loved ones.
