As uncomfortable as it may be to run into an ex, at least most people don't have to do it at a celebrity-filled event with cameras pointed at them. That's exactly what happened to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck recently. And to make things even more awkward, Ben's other ex, Jennifer Garner, was also present.

Ben and J.Lo first dated and became engaged in 2002 before calling off their wedding in early 2004. Later that year, he and Jennifer Garner became an item. They married in 2006 and welcomed three children—Violet, Fin, and Samuel—before divorcing in 2018. In 2021, Ben and Jennifer Lopez rekindled their romance. They married in 2022 but by spring 2024, they ended their relationship. J.Lo filed for divorce in August.
In October, all three of them attended an event in Brentwood.
On October 18, Jennifer Garner, Ben, and J.Lo attended the same event in West Hollywood, TMZ reported. The outlet didn't provide information about what, exactly the event was. However, the manner in which Ben and the two Jens arrived was noteworthy.
Photos showed Ben and Jennifer Garner arriving together.
Photos from the trio arriving at the Brentwood event showed Ben and Jennifer Garner walking outside together and chatting. J.Lo was photographed walking solo to the occasion. As TMZ reported, Jennifer Garner was the first to arrive at 7 p.m., with J.Lo showing up roughly five minutes later, followed by Ben not long afterward. It's unclear whether all three of them chatted at the event itself.
Reportedly, Ben 'never looked back' after he moved out of his and J.Lo's Beverly Hills mansion.
On October 17, an unnamed source told People that Ben "never looked back" after moving his belongings out of his and J.Lo's marital home.
The Good Will Hunting star packed his stuff and moved out in June while Lopez vacationed in Europe. At the time, Ben had already been living in a rental home in Brentwood for weeks.
Jennifer broke her silence about the divorce during a sit-down with 'Interview' magazine.
On October 9, Interview magazine published a cover story of Nikki Glaser interviewing Lopez. J.Lo didn't mention Ben by name. But she did speak heavily about the challenges she faced over the past summer.
In the interview, Lopez stressed the need to find happiness on her own.
"You have to be complete, if you want something that’s more complete. You have to be good on your own," J.Lo told Nikki. "I thought I learned that, but I didn’t."
She added, "And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'"
J.Lo is not currently looking to date.
During her chat with Nikki for Interview magazine, Lopez revealed that she's "not looking for anybody" right now.
"For people who are romantics and love being in relationships and want to grow old with somebody, we think, 'I have to have that to be whole and happy,'" she explained. "And you don’t."
As of writing, Ben has not publicly spoken about his and J.Lo's divorce.
