Tatum Thompson, son to Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, brother to True Thompson, turned 2-years-old on July 28. His birthday celebration was in keeping with Kardashian-Jenner party traditions in that it was not a modest affair. His mom threw him a "Two-a-saurus" dinosaur-themed birthday extravaganza with the help of party planner to the stars Mindy Weiss.
More from MamasLatinas: Khloé Kardashian's beauty transformation over the years
Now, most of us have seen or attended dinosaur-themed parties for kids, but I guarantee you that none of them compare to Tatum’s truly spectacular birthday bonanza. I’m not sure that the guest of honor is even old enough to be able to remember this unforgettable event later in life, but his famous mama took a lot of pictures, so at least he’ll have those to look back on. Take a look at the bits that Khloé shared on social media.
Guests had big footsteps to follow.
Whimsical dinosaur footprints—or if you want to get technical they are called ichnites—guided guests to their destination. I can't with the cuteness! Very nice touch.
Grandma Jenner showed up in all white.
She looked sporty and fresh. Khloé welcomed her mom Kris Jenner and used the opportunity to show off the entrance to the party. The front door was festooned with balloons, two giant signs, and a statuesque dinosaur.
Once inside, there was a whole photo wall area where guests could snap pictures. I'm sure many photos were taken and no one will forget when and where the pics happened because the wall very clearly has the occasion emblazoned on it.
Like mother, like daughter.
I don't think they planned it, but both Kris and Khloé opted for head-to-toe white looks with very sporty vibes. They totally could have gone to play a game of tennis together after the party.
Kim did not get the white on white memo.
Auntie Kim Kardashian showed up to Tatum's party looking like a statuette. So much so that Khloé exclained: "Wowee the Golden Globe is here, ladies and gentleman!" Kim laughed it off as she stood next to her daughter Chicago West.
The food was on theme.
"Everything is themed. Look at these dinosaurs. Everything. Look at all the fruit cut like dinosaurs. Chicken, everything, yummy, yummy, yummy!" Khloé said on her Instagram Stories. The food was catered by chef Khristianne U.
The cake was an edible work of art. It's almost a shame to cut into such an ornate cake, but it would be a crime not to gobble it up. Especially, if it tasted as good as it looked.
Check out the pool area.
The pool had dinosaur eggs floating above it and dino statues that look like friendly extras from the Jurassic Park movie franchise. The attention to detail is impressive.
I love the giant leaf floaties that were placed in the pool. Not only are they cute and on theme, should anyone accidentally fall into the pool, they could just grab on to one.
Activities? There were plenty.
Young guests were encouraged to play paleontologists and excavate for fossils. Not only is this a fun activity, it's also educational. Plus, I'm sure kids got to take home any of the "fossils" they unearthed.
I love this because we can't all throw over-the-top birthday parties and hire a company to come and set up activity stations, but recreating this kind of painting activity is doable. This is a very easy idea to DIY.
I'm pretty sure that during the Mesozoic era making slime wasn't really a thing. I mean other than any naturally occurring slime, of course. But nowadays having a slime station at a kid's birthday party is pretty standard. What's not standard about the one at Tatum's party is that there were all kinds of scents available.
There was a T-Rex Zone.
Tatum and many of his guests are pretty young, so I imagine a balance had to be struck between making the dinosaurs on display awesome without being terrifying. You don't want any of the kids bursting into tears because they are afraid of the decorations.
Yes, there was a piñata.
The birthday boy and guests got to take a crack at a dinosaur egg shaped piñata. I'm dying to know what it was filled with because you know it had to be something spectacular. Like maybe actual baby dinosaurs. I know it's not possible, but if anyone could make that happen for their child, it would be Khloé.
Guests got to take home literal goody bags.
"Obviously, we have Stony Clover Lane here where the kids get to design their own bags, pick their patches. We could get ready for school or just bits and bobs," Khloé explained via her IG Stories.
