Taylor Swift fans are convinced her song ‘thanK you aIMee’ is about Kim Kardashian

It's no secret that Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian have long-standing beef. From Kim's ex, Kanye West, infamously interrupting her at the 2009 MTV VMAs during her acceptance speech, to Kim and Ye recording a private phone conversation, editing it, and then leaking it to the public, there's definitely bad blood. Now, fans are convinced Taylor wrote a diss track about Kim.

On April 19, 2024, Taylor's highly anticipated 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, dropped. Fans expected the songs to be almost entirely about the singer's ex, Joe Alwyn. However, many of the tracks hinted at her short-lived relationship with The 1975 frontman, Matty Healy. Another was seemingly about her current boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Yet another was glaringly about Kim.

Taylor surprised fans with a double album drop on April 19.

At midnight on April 19, Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department was released. She gifted fans with even more songs at 2 a.m. with a surprise drop of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. In this second batch of music, fans immediately made a connection to Kim.

Fans think 'thanK you aIMee' is about Kim.

In her track "thanK you aIMee," Taylor sings about a "bronze, spray-tanned" person who relentlessly bullied her. The abuse was to the point that Taylor's "saintly woman" mom "wished that you were dead." Although she sings about a person named Aimee, Taylor details in the song: "And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues / And one day, your kid comes home singin' / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you."

The title of the song itself points to Kim.

Yes, the song is technically about "Aimee." However, fans quickly noticed the curious capitalization in the track's title. The only capitalized letters spell out K-I-M. Swifties immediately connected the dots.

Swifties reacted to 'thanK you aIMee' on social media.

On X, Taylor's fans reacted to the epic diss track. One person declared, "Omfg thanK you aIMee is about Kim Kardashian. This album is SO UNHINGEDDDD."

Another X user commented, "Kim Kardashian probs saw the discourse around this album and thought she was safe and then taylor drops thanK you aiMEE – like you just have to laugh."

Other fans imagined Kim's reaction to the song.

Other Swifties imagined what Kim's reaction to the diss track would be.

One person wrote, "Kim Kardashian when North presses play on thanK you aIMee for the first time," alongside a photo of Taylor holding a glass of wine.

Someone else wrote: "Kim Kardashian listening to: 'thanK you aIMee,' also sharing a clip from Euphoria of the character Maddy saying the memorable line, "Wait, is this f—ing play about us?"

Fans also think Taylor's song 'Cassandra' is about Kim.

One theory about Taylor's song "Cassandra" is that it's about the phone call recording debacle with Ye and Kim. In an edited snippet of the recording released by Kim in 2016, Taylor seemed to give Kanye permission to name-drop Swift in his song "Famous." ("Me and Taylor still might have s—/ I made that b—- famous.”) Years later, in 2020, the full conversation was leaked, revealing that Taylor did not, in fact, give Kanye the OK to call her a b—-.

In "Cassandra," Taylor references the "raging riot," likely when she was being canceled online. She continued: “When the truth comes out, it’s quiet / So, they killed Cassandra first ’cause she feared the worst / And tried to tell the town. So, they filled my cell with snakes, I regret to say / Do you believe me now?”
