Co-parenting children after a divorce can be difficult for anyone—but for celebrities, there can be a whole other layer of complications. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are a perfect example of this, as they’ve publicly disagreed about aspects of raising their kids. However, the “Famous” rapper recently demanded on social media that Kim take his kids out of their “fake school for celebrities.”

The Skims mogul and Kanye were married from May 2014 until she filed for divorce in February 2021; they finalized their divorce in November 2022. During their time together, the couple welcomed four children. Their oldest, North West, was born in June 2013, followed by Saint West in December 2015, Chicago West in January 2018, and Psalm West in May 2019.
Kim and Kanye’s kids attend Sierra Canyon School.
The ex-couple’s children attend Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, California. It’s a private school for kids in preschool through grade 12. Through the years, many kids of celebrities have attended the school, including LeBron James’ son, Bronny, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s daughter, Willow, Alec Baldwin’s daughter Ireland and more.
Kanye recently demanded that Kim take their kids out of the school.
On February 28, Kanye took to Instagram, with a direct demand for his ex-wife. “Kim take my kids out of Sierra Canyon now,” he wrote. “It’s a fake school for celebrities that are used by 'the system.'”
In the caption, he elaborated on what he meant by ‘the system.’
In the caption of his all-caps Instagram post, Kanye slightly elaborated. “At this point everybody knows what ‘the system’ is code word for,” he wrote. “I was removed from my dad by the system and the system removed me from my children.”
He added, "When the system drafts athletes they avoid working with those who have their father in their life because they are harder to manipulate. My two oldest know they daddy is."
Instagram users defended Kim in the comments.
In the comments, Instagram users reacted to Kanye’s erratic post, with many supporting Kim.
One person wrote, “Kim got the most stressful baby daddy out of anyone.”
Another Instagram user commented: “Let this be an example for all the ladies out there. Be careful on who you choose to have babies with. ”
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “You think the best way to fix these problems is to run to social media & air your families dirty laundry? I don't blame Kim from keeping those kids from you. You are one big man child.”
Others were concerned that Kanye publicly named his kids’ school.
While some folks focused on defending Kim, others blasted Kanye for naming his kids’ school in a public forum.
One person wrote: “Bro bro.. what are u doing mentioning the location of where your kids go to school? This is a privacy concern.”
Another Instagram user commented, “Maybe don’t blast your children’s school location publically.”
Kim reportedly paid for additional security at their kids’ school because of Kanye’s past comments.
This isn’t the first time Kanye has name-dropped their kids’ school online. In 2022, Kim paid for added security at the Sierra Canyon School following comments her ex-husband made via social media, TMZ reported. In addition to naming the school, Kanye made inflammatory comments about another rapper after wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt to one of his son’s basketball games.
Hopefully, Kim and Kanye sort out their kids’ education offline moving forward—and for that matter, all other aspects of their co-parenting.
