On June 6, Salma took to Instagram with a photo that has prompted her followers to shower her with compliments. She wrote, "Me waking up and counting how many white hairs and wrinkles have crashed the party this morning," alongside a makeup-free selfie. The image is a close shot of her face, without any filters or retouching, allowing for full visibility of wrinkles on her skin and silver strands on her head.
Her Instagram followers praised her for being real.
Reactions to her makeup-free selfie were plentiful and overwhelmingly positive.

Although Salma is wearing makeup in most of her Instagram photos, this isn't the first time she's shared a fresh-faced snap. Literally the day before she posted her early-morning selfie, Salma shared a photo of herself petting a duck without a drop of makeup.
And on January 20, she posted a selfie while wearing a blue bathing suit and nothing on her face. Here's yet another photo (this time posing with her husband, François-Henri Pinault) in which Salma ditched the makeup.
