Canadian actor dies from complications after 12 surgeries to look like BTS singer Jimin

Plastic surgery is a highly personal decision based on many factors. For some folks, inspiration is drawn from their favorite celebrities. Angelina Jolie's lips, Natalie Portman's nose, or a Kardashian butt have all been popular requests through the years. But sometimes, individuals take this inspiration a few steps too far — to the point where the goal is to look exactly like a famous person. That's exactly what ended up happening to one Canadian actor, who was seemingly obsessed with looking like Jimin, a member of BTS.

But first, here's a refresher on the singers who make up the K-pop group. The South Korean boy band, also called the Bangtan Boys, includes seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Specifically, Jimin is the lead vocalist and main dancer of the group.

Canadian actor Saint Von Colucci died after dropping more than $220,000 to look like Jimin.

Canadian actor Saint Von Colucci, 22, died on April 23, 2023, in a South Korean hospital, the Daily Mail reported. Reportedly, Saint had spent more than $220,000 for 12 plastic surgery procedures so that he could look like Jimin. His publicist, Eric Blake, told the publication, "It's very tragic and very unfortunate," also noting they had worked together since March 2022.

"He was very insecure about his looks," Eric told the Daily Mail. "He had a very square jawline and chin and he didn't like the shape of it because he thought it was too wide and wanted a V-shape, the shape many Asians have." Among Saint's cosmetic surgeries were a nose job, a face lift, jaw implants, lip reduction, an eye lift, and an eyebrow lift.

Complications from a jaw surgery ultimately resulted in his death.

So what happened, exactly? After Saint's jaw implants in November 2022, he reportedly ended up developing an infection, according to his publicist, per the Daily Mail. Saint reportedly underwent surgery on April 22 to remove the implants. However, complications from the procedure resulted in intubation, followed by death, just hours later.

Saint recently finished filming for a TV series, according to reports.

Saint's publicist told the Daily Mail that he'd recently filmed a Korean drama series called Pretty Lies. Reportedly, Saint portrayed an international student, one of the main characters in the show. Eric noted the series is slated to drop on a major streaming network in October 2023, although he did not specify which one.

Our thoughts are with Saint's family, friends, and fans at this time.

He's not the only one set on looking like Jimin.

Three years ago, a man named Oli London appeared on Dr. Phil to share his plastic surgery transformation. His inspiration also happens to be Jimin from BTS. As of the filming of the segment, he had spent more than $150,000 in his attempt to look like the BTS star.
