Multiple reports and some very official-sounding press releases are out there claiming that Cardi B is about to launch her very own beauty line. Supposedly, the “six-phase beauty line is designed to enhance the natural glow of all skin types and comprises a range of products from skincare to feminine hygiene.” Cue the sound of fans making money moves as they get ready to treat themselves to some beauty à la Cardi.
More from MamásLatinas: Celebrities who have launched their own makeup collections
Aside from being a very successful recording artist, Cardi B is known for her love of fashion, glam, and beauty. It requires no stretch of the imagination to picture her launching her own beauty line as other celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez have done. Especially since she’s mentioned wanting to do so in the past and has even taken legal steps to establish a brand name for such an endeavor. But hold on—don’t charge forward before reading what we’ve uncovered! Is she really about to launch a beauty line?
It all seems to have started with a press release.
On February 16, a legit-seeming press release claimed that Cardi B had partnered with Delight Cosmeceutical Labs to create Kulture Wave Beauty. The name sounds legit because Cardi’s kids are named Kulture and Wave. The press release even quoted Cardi.
Then on March 6, there was another announcement about Kulture Wave Beauty.
The Cosmetics & Toiletries website published a report stating, “Hemp Inc. has announced it will supply CBD and MCT oil for Kulture Wave Beauty (KWB), a beauty line by Cardi B. that includes skin care and feminine hygiene products with CBD as a key ingredient.”
That same day TMZ reported that Cardi B is not even close to releasing a beauty line.
Here’s what TMZ reported: “Sources close to the ‘WAP’ rapper tell TMZ … the recent flurry of news stories claiming Cardi is set to release a beauty product line called Kulture Wave are totally false, without a single shred of evidence to back up the claims.”
Is Cardi even interested in launching a beauty line?
Yes! In 2021, TMZ reported that Cardi B filed legal documents to trademark “Bardi Beauty” to be used for products including cosmetics, fragrances, and pretty much all things beauty-related. The outlet even shared the signature that Cardi used on the legal documents using her real name, Belcalis Almánzar.
What’s the bottom line?
The bottom line is that although Cardi B may release a beauty line at some point, reports of the imminent launch of Kulture Wave Beauty appear to be a lie. Why would anyone bother spreading this kind of false news? Who the heck knows? Cardi hasn’t addressed the reports.
