Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl was the perfect fodder for the meme-verse. There were so many things to process like whether or not she was pregnant, the red on red on red outfit she had on, the flying platforms, her backup dancers’ costumes, the moment she stopped to touch up her makeup, and so on. Check out some of our favorite meme reactions, because they say what we were all thinking.

Some thought RiRi achieved legend status.

I agree. If you’ve ever been pregnant you know that it can throw your balance off sometimes, which is why her making an entrance on a high-flying platform is even more impressive. She did that with a baby in her belly.

Speaking of the platforms.

How funny is this person who compared her stage design to a popular video game and wrote, “Respect to Rihanna for performing in a Super Smash Bros stage.” I totally see the resemblance.

There were a lot of video game comparisons going on.

Twitter had all kinds of fun adding graphics to images of Rihanna’s performance. This one makes it look like she’s about to get kicked off her platform by another player. It’s captioned, “RIHANNA LOOK OUT.”

Oh, and did you catch her moment of self-promotion.

Most Super Bowl performers don’t touch up their makeup while on stage, but Ms. RiRi did because she’s got her own beauty line to promote. Her Fenty products got to share the stage with her for a few seconds.

Or maybe it wasn’t self-promotion.

Now that I think about it, maybe Rihanna was just giving a quick makeup tutorial during the show. Like, “If you want to achieve this look, this is what I used.” So freakin’ thoughtful of her!

All of us during Rihanna’s performance.

I know I was wondering, but didn’t want to be the first one to ask because what if she wasn’t pregnant. No one wants to be the jerk who is calling an unpregnant woman pregnant. It’s always best not to assume, but sometimes it’s really hard.

Red on red on red made it hard to tell.

Since she was wearing so much red, it was kind of hard to tell if what looked like a baby bump was actually a baby bump. I may have gotten really close to the TV to try and get a better look.

Elmo loved the red look!

Elmo was very gracious even though it was clear that Rihanna kind of stole his signature look. Instead of being catty, her took the high road and wrote, “Elmo thinks you look great in red Ms. @Rihanna, just like Elmo!”

To be honest, I was having a hard time listening to the music.

I was too busy trying to figure out if she was pregnant that’s why this particular meme resonates with me. I was trying to watch while checking Twitter and Googling, “Is Rihanna pregnant” to listen.

Some wondered what the ride was like for the baby.

Do you think the baby in her womb could tell it was flying high up in the air? Do babies experience turbulence? Was the music and noise making an impact? Nah, baby was probably comfy and cozy, but this meme is still hilarious.

RiRi’s backup dancers did not escape the meme treatment.

One user referred to them as “White blood cells showing up to help the body fight infection and other disease.” Clever, clever, and spot on. They do kind of look like they are out there eagerly fighting for our health.

Another person compared the backup dancers to Baymax.

Baymax is an inflatable computerized robot from Marvel Comics. He definitely would have fit right in with Rihanna’s dancers. Who knows, maybe he was one of the backup dancers and nobody noticed.

A$AP was a target of many.

“GET OFF HER @asaprocky,” one person pleaded. Like give the woman a break. She just had a baby and then you go and do this to her again. It’s all in fun. It’s not like RiRi doesn’t have a say in the matter.

Do you think Rihanna was pleased by the reactions to her performance?

We’re thinking she probably got quite the kick out of everyone trying to figure out if she is pregnant or not. Shortly after her performance, her rep confirmed that she is indeed expecting, but she has all wondering for what felt like a very pregnant pause.

Michael Che proves yet again that he is hilarious.
