Some Latino celebrities are lucky that both the public and the entertainment industry believe in second chances. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives, and celebrities aren't perfect. There have been many stars who have gotten caught up in some sort of drama or bad situation that almost cost them their careers. There have been plenty of famous people who have been fired and thrown their success down the drain after one misstep, but that hasn't been the case for everyone.

Venezuelan presenter and fashionista Rodner Figueroa shocked his fans with his sudden return to Spanish-language TV. He was fired from Univision after commenting on a makeup artist who had made himself look like first lady Michelle Obama and said that the result looked like "something out of the cast of the movie' Planet of the Apes." After a forced hiatus of two and a half years, he announced that he would be part of the cast of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo with María Celeste Arrarás.

"I've missed you," he told his fans when he posted this photo on Instagram. He explained that starting this week, he has joined the cast of Al Rojo Vivo, Telemundo's news magazine.

He had given Puerto Rican journalist and TV Host María Celeste a couple of interviews, so it makes sense that his return to television was on her show. Can't wait to see what he does there.

Her young career imploded in 2011 when she attacked a dancer while on tour with the Jonas Brothers. "I basically had a nervous breakdown," she told Seventeen magazine. "I was really bad off. My parents and my manager pulled me aside and said, 'You need to get some help'… I wanted freedom from the inner demons. I wanted to start my life over." After that, Demi had an overdose in 2018, but the public welcomed her back with open arms when she returned to the stage in 2020. Now she is not only one of the biggest Latina stars on the planet, but also works hard to advocate for mental health and self-esteem issues.

He was arrested in September 2015 for a crazy case of kidnapping and beating a show promoter in North Carolina.

He spent two months in prison and his situation was resolved privately, but the Mexican American singer hasn't forgotten about it. He revealed that he is now a recovered alcoholic and credits God for his second chance.

The Mexican actress' image took a dive when it was revealed that she had a clandestine relationship with Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, while the drug lord was hiding from the police, after escaping from prison.

The Mexican government was investigating Del Castillo and her career halted for a while. Luckily for her, Netflix went ahead with the series Ingobernable, agreed to move production to California (since she couldn't travel to Mexico) and promoted the hell out of it. The series did so well, that there is a second season in the works, and on October 20, the streaming service will also release a three-part series on Kate and El Chapo's story, under the title The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story.

Nicky Jam was a big star during the first golden age of reggaeton in Puerto Rico at the end of the 1990s to early 2000s. But fame and money were bad advisors and he ended up in jail after abusing drugs and alcohol.

In 2007, he moved to Medellín, Colombia, and after a while started working again on his music. He began working with Maluma and J Balvin, and the urban music movement in Colombia was born in 2014.

Nicky Jam already had hits "Voy a Beber" and "Travesuras" when Enrique Iglesias called him and together crafted "El Perdón."

Chiquis' mom, Jenni Rivera, was reportedly convinced that her older daughter and then-husband were having an affair in the months before her death in December 2012. Chiquis was then one of the most hated figures in the regional Mexican music world.

Since her mom's untimely death, Chiquis has cleaned up her image, cleared up crazy rumors and has managed to launch a career as a singer and businesswoman.

The Mexican singer and actor has been at the center of many scandals, which include drugs, alcohol, and sex tapes plus infidelities. His last bout of bad behavior allegedly provoked his firing from the telenovela El Vuelo de la Victoria.

However, there he has been, Sunday after Sunday in Univision's dancing competition. Let's hope he has mended his ways.

He was a top model and an emerging actor when Telemundo tapped him to star on El señor de los cielos. The narco-novela was supposed to be a series based on the life of Amado Carrillo Fuentes, a well-known Mexican drug lord, who died during plastic surgery.

After five seasons and a serious health crisis in November 2015, the Mexican media reported a Lamar Odom type of situation, in which a drug overdose and bad company landed him in the ER. Rafael admitted to having been hospitalized, but said it was due to exhaustion.

Although the whole situation caused a delay in the filming of season four of the series, Rafael was back for season five.

Fernando del Rincón lost both his marriage and his job almost at the same time.

The Mexican journalist was the host of Primer Impacto when his then-wife Carmen Dominicci accused him of domestic violence. It was December 2008 and the situation was bad. Apparently the abuse was mutual and the scandal humongous. They divorced and both were out of Univision within weeks.

Today, however, Fernando is one of the most respected journalists in Latin America thanks to the amazing job he is doing on his show Conclusiones on CNN en Español.

Lucero is another star who got a second chance.

The Mexican singer's career was in trouble when in January 2014, photos with her boyfriend, Michel Kuri, exploded on social media. The images of the couple hunting and showing off their kill led to her leaving Televisa after 30 years with the Mexican network, and the loss of several sponsor deals, including Pantene. Full circle!

After a less than successful stint with Telemundo and a telenovela in Brazil, the singer is back selling records and on Univision, which belongs to Televisa.

LuisMi has been sued, booed, and criticized more than most celebrities, but his fans seem to be oblivious to his multiple legal problems (he almost ended up in jail in 2017) and concert cancellations.

The interest in his Telemundo/Netflix bio-series is huge, and we all counted the days until it was released in 2018.
