2 Healthy moms die during childbirth & hospital may be to blame

Two healthy moms died giving birth to their babies within a month sparking investigations at South Shore Hospital in Massachusetts. The moms, 30-year-old Christie Fazio and 32-year-old Colleen Celia both died during a C-section procedure.

Although deaths related to childbirth are rare nowadays, the hospital says it did everything it could to save the women.

The deaths are said to be unrelated and that the mothers held their respective babies before passing away. Celia reportedly died because an amniotic fluid embolism occurred in her bloodstream, meanwhile Fazio had complications after her C-section.

What makes these deaths suspicious is that they normally occur a few times a year and it is unusual for them to occur to so close together. Fazio's husband, John, is mourning the loss of his wife but says that his daughter's smile is what gives him strength. Celia's husband Paul says he isn't mad at the hospital, but hopes that this will prevent similar instances from happening to other people.

Currently their families are helping the dads raise their newborn babies as the men take on the roles of being single fathers. Although investigations are underway over their deaths, the hospital refused to comment and didn't name the doctors who handled their deliveries.

It's sad that these babies were left without a mom and it makes me suspicious that the hospital lost two moms in such a short time span. I know this is going to be a challenge for the dads as they embark being single parents, but with the help of their families, I believe everything will turn out fine. My thoughts are with them during this hard time and I hope they can get justice over these mothers' untimely deaths.
